Summer Camp
Intergenerational Family Retreats
Session I: June 28 - July 11, 2010
Session 1 is for seniors only.
Session II: July 12 - 25, 2010
Session II is for all ages and includes a Children's Program.
Start your summer with a Berkshire mountain getaway! Isabella Freedman began over 100 years ago as a summer escape for multiple generations of Jews. Over the years we have evolved into a place where all streams of Judaism, spirituality and intergenerational community meet. And now the 2010 Summer Camp experience offers the best of what these worlds bring together: your choice of 2 or 4 weeks of restorative vacation, provocative Jewish learning, great entertainment, relaxation and fun for all ages.
Explore your creative side with arts and crafts. Swim and canoe in Lake Miriam. Celebrate Shabbat as the sun sets over the Berkshire mountains. Sing by the campfire at night. Relax with friends for games in the lounge and conversations in the gazebo. Take trips to Berkshire destinations like Tanglewood, Rockwell Museum, Music Mountain, and Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Learn about Making Music with Laura Wetzler, Jewish History with Abe Gittelson, Managing Retirement with Rabbi Regina Sandler-Phillips, Communicating Your Wisdom with Lynne Iser, and Rabbi’s Victor and Nadya Gross.
Seniors will find old friends, time with family, fascinating lectures, opportunities to play, relax, make beautiful objects and music, enjoyable trips—the good old Isabella Freedman.
Families will find fun, nature, time to be together, and time to learn, great kosher food, nourishing learning, and a nurturing environment.
Kids will find the best of all worlds: Freedom in a gorgeous environment, an exciting kids program, lots of play, swimming, hiking, time to hang-out with parents, and grand-parents.
"I
have been to Isabella Freedman every summer for years.
The facilities are charming. The lectures are
wonderful. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. The mountains and
the lake make my heart sing. There is no place on earth I’d
rather be."
—Lottie Brafman
