Family Programs
Bring your whole family and enjoy being on retreat with other families! Our retreat center offers opportunities for fun and learning for guests of all ages. Activities range from indoor games and arts & crafts to outdoor fun on the farm, in the pool, at the lake and on miles of wooded trails. View the Calendar of Family Programs below for a complete list of our 2009 family retreats. Babysitting is always available and we offer a special children's program during certain retreats.
Children's Program
Give children the gift of a joyous and engaging Jewish experience!
Our Children's Program is for children ages 4 – 14 and typically includes creative learning, arts, environmental and organic farming education, sports and outdoor activities. The program is led by educators who are trained to provide an emotionally safe environment to form a respectful and vibrant children's community. Two or three age-groups are formed based on the number of children at each formal program.
Our Children's Program is available on the following dates:
- March 29 – April 2, 2010 during Passover Retreat
- April 29 – May 2, 2010 during Zornberg Shabbaton ($100 per child)
- May 18 – 21, 2010 during Shavuot ($100 per child)
- July 11 – August 31, 2010 during our Summer Programs. (Children's Program fees are listed by retreat. Please check individual webpages.)
Babysitting
Daytime and evening babysitting is available for children of all ages for $15/hour for one child and $20/hour for two or more children. Advance reservations are required. Please call (800) 398-2630 at least one week in advance of the first day of your retreat to reserve babysitting.
Important Transportation Information for Guests Traveling with Children
Please note that as required by NY and CT state laws, we have a new Car Seat Policy for guests who require an Isabella Freedman shuttle from either Wassaic Train Station or Hartford Airport.
Adults must bring and hook up their own car seat or booster seat for any child under the age of 7 years or under the weight of 60 pounds. Due to state and federal regulations, any child who arrives at the train station or airport without the appropriate car seat or booster seat will not be permitted to ride in a Freedman vehicle.
